The Shanghai Experience

We’ve kept it under the wraps for a while…and now, the cone’s out of the bag!

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve finally launched our first-ever overseas pop-up experience in the bustling city of Shanghai, China. For two months starting 15th August, we will call the Jing An Kerry Centre our second home, with the full local experience — from the signature freshly churned ice creams and freshly baked waffles, to our handcrafted toppings and iconic teal and copper ambience. A local team will also be based in Shanghai for this period, including Co-founder Khoh Wan Chin and Executive Chef Audrey Wang, to recreate an experience as close to what we do in Singapore.

Part of the Sunday Folks motto is about the dedication to craft and being inspired by flavours from around the world. For this pop-up, we’re bringing to Shanghai flavours mainly from the Asian region: Kaya Toast as a tribute to the traditional Singaporean breakfast, Gula Melaka from Malaysia, Mango Steamed Glutinous Rice from Thailand, Akai Miso from Japan, and more.

It’s truly an exciting time for us in our first venture overseas. With ten exclusive flavours on rotation during these two months (some of which have never debuted in Singapore!), if you find yourself in Shanghai, make Jing An Kerry Centre a stop in your travels.
